Here is a selection of 40 of the NIGHT "Families of the Dump" series. I hope to get the work exhibited on my return to Canada. An exhibition will lead to a continuing conversation, the spreading information (artist talks?) about the lives of the people at the dump. It might also help raise more funds to assist them.
I have spent $2255 CAD of the $3398 donation money raised for this current 6 month trip. Any conversation started is good, any money raised to directly help these people is even better. I will submit this 40 picture blog link to some gallery folk. Maybe someone out there will see the importance in it. Maybe someone out there will help us tell the story of the "Families of the Dump".
Note**These photographs were made in the Mae Sot Thailand garbage dump. I started photographing the families in 2013.
Note** This color work is ongoing, still plan many more night time visits to donate goods (headlamps, boots, rice) to the families and make pictures before I am done here in Thai and return to Canada to my regular night time security guard job.
