Learning some Vietnamese will allow me to photograph and communicate with many people in Cambodia as well as Vietnam. I am thinking it might help me with the LOST INNOCENCE documentary photographic project. Allowing me to tell the story of Vietnamese women trafficked and sold into sexual slavery in Cambodia. Telling the stories of those forgotten and destroyed lives could turn into the most positive and important work of my lifetime. Imagine creating photographs that actually help people to live better lives (via education and fighting for human rights).
Plus learning any language is fun and will allow me to make new friends and many new worlds. I believe Vietnamese is a language jI could studty effectively in Edmonton.
