Khun Manit Sriwanichpoom, Kathmandu Gallery Bangkok

I met Khun Manit Sriwanichpoom at his Kathmandu Gallery in Bangkok and got my copy of his book "Ordinary/Extraordinary" signed. We had a nice talk for over 1 hour about photography, photographers, creativity and other subjects. Khun Manit was is very humble and modest person and a wonderful photographer, you can see the passion in his eyes when he talks about his work or photography in general, I hope we can become good friends.

I plan on visiting the Kathmandu Gallery every time I come to Bangkok, there is a wonderful show there now on a photographer (have to get his name, will post it later) who worked in Phuket Thailand back in the 1930s. I especially liked the feel of the photographs (friendly, truthful,) and the contact prints made from glass negatives for the show were wonderful to look at, it was like entering a unique place, a unique time in history, long since gone.

The Kathmandu Gallery has a wonderful friendly feel to it, you feel comfortable and at home as soon as you walk in the door, well worth a visit the next time your in Bangkok.
