Today I met 2 more teachers including the head master from the Sky Blue school at the Mae Sot dump site. The school is for students from grades 1-5 and has about 170 students and 9 teachers. The teachers are volunteers and do make any salary, from what I understand the entire school is funded by donations. I guess there is a funding crisis at the school now so there was a meeting held between the teachers and the parents.
These people are doing very important work so I want to make a donation of a large bag of rice and some money when I leave. I will have to arrange for my motorcycle driver (pee noy) to drive his truck out there for me so I can transport the rice.
