Did a 7 hour walk through the Klong Toey slum. It was fun to visit old haunts. I find I do not really get lost now, I sort of know the slum well enough to make my way around quite easily. I also am a bit braver (smart strategy?) and basically go everywhere and anywhere including dealing with drugged-drunk people more frequently.
One area that I visited and made a video of is on the boats that clean up the garbage on the canal. 2 trips ago last year sometime I photographed the people there. This trip many thais in the area recognized me. The first words out of one ladies mouth were "Donnie, khune owen mak!!" "Now your so fat!!", very true, I need to lose some tonnage.
It was fun to walk the streets again, making photos of what I found and wandering about with my cameras. Looking-searching for stories and compositions in the slum is loads of fun, the people are so kind and friendly.
