Did my first raw chemical by for wet plate collodion. The idea is to start to do wet plate work, beginner wet plate work in 4x5 this summer and fall after I set up the new darkroom trailer. I plan on continuing that trailer build this coming week off work now that the snow has melted.
Today's buy from 2 sources, eBay (free shipping from Poland) and Xenox Laboratories Inc (free delivery with a $200 CAD order) included. The total cost for the 2 buys was around $426 CAD .
- Cadmium Iodide 50 grams bottle
- Cadmium Bromide 50 grams bottle
- Pottasium Iodide 500 grams bottle (too much?)
- Pottasium Bromide 500 grams bottle (too much?)
- Glacial Acetic Acid 500 ml x 4 bottles
- Calcium Carbonate 500 gram bottle
Note* also bought a 4x5 wet plate holder from an online Facebook friend, which should be arriving, hopefully sooner than later.
Note** I still need to buy many more chemicals before I can mix chemistry, things like Colodion USP and Ether (2 dangerous chemicals but today's buys were a positive start to all of this.
