Trying to learn a bit of Tagalog from one of the cleaners at the plant where I work security. As with most everything I do, this relates to photography. The hope is to eventually visit the Philippines, to make photographs and work on various photography projects there.
I have found that language skills are very important in gaining trust and building friendships with your subjects. All vital when your doing social documentary work and need to gain access into peoples lives.
Besides languages are loads of fun! Thou extremely hard to learn you got to give them a try!
