Tonight in the darkroom am listening to the documentary "Under the Dark Cloth" on Paul Strand. This guy showed amazing determination, when he was nearly blind from cataracts he worked in the darkroom with his wife, she would focus the enlarger and he (barely able to see) would ask her where everything was and then try to burn and dodge the print. He was trying to print while almost blind!.
He eventually had cataract surgery which was successful, he could not drive a car but his eyesight was good enough to make pictures. The first thing he did when he got back from the hospital with partial sight back was to go out to his garden and make pictures.
I need more of that drive and determination, I need to learn from old man Strand.
