NOMA

I spent about 5 hours at the New Orleans Museum of Art today (NOMA), I found the shows wonderful and the museum friendly and inviting. NOMA has a very friendly volunteer and security staff, the whole feel of the place was relaxed, it did not have the feel of high end arty farty snobby museum. I liked being in the place, I enjoyed th big easy atmosphere, sometimes art places take themselves way to seriously ( AGA), NOMA does not, I found that very refreshing.

Today I saw work by Edward and Brett Weston, Adams, Evans, Penn, Arbus, Friedlander,Riis, Hine, Frank, Parks, Cartier-Bresson, Brassai, Picasso, Degas, Monet, Manet, Chagall, Modigliani and Braque.
