This is a photo made of Queen Victoria in 1899. It is listed as a glass transparency (ambrotype?). The picture was taken by Carl Vandyk, the photographer who supposedly owned the lens I used today for first time. Could this lens have been used to photograph Queen Victoria (on a smaller format camera), highly doubtful but possible I guess.
She looks tired but tough. Victoria passed in January 1901., age 81.
Note* The seller of the lens in the linked post mentions selling a 10x12 camera for 6000 pounds.
