I do not think it is the humidity, or temperature change that is causing the Canon digital camera malfunction. It is some kind of issue with the Compact Flash storage part of the camera. When I have no CF card it powers up works except for taking pics (no card). When I have an SD card it powers up and takes pictures. When I have a CD with the SD card or the CF card alone, the camera is dead, nothing happens, cannot take photos, cannot adjust setting, cannot see the menu. Everything locks up until I remove the CF card, take out the battery reinsert it and then power up with the SD card only.
Looks like I can still take photos but only onto SD cards which I believe are slower but create the same quality files, right? I will have to have the camera repaired if I want to use the CF storage, or I could just use my SD storage until you sell me your Mark 4, to save money. It kind of sucks, but I still have my reliable, tougher, less problematic film cameras. Hopefully I can still use the Canon 5D Mark 3 to shoot for the next 3 months, in Mae Sot and Bangkok. Then will probably retire the thing.

Note* I tired two different CF cards with the camera, both had the same problem, shut everything down, the camera became a brick.
Update* It looks like one of the gold CF pins inside the camera body is bent. How did that happen? So the CF card does not connect to the camera properly. I might be able to straighten it with the right tool, if not I will have to pay for a repair or just use the SD card storage feature. If the image files are of thee same size and quality I do not really care what type of card stores them.
