Interview Request, St. Thomas University, Aquanian Newspaper
For me one of the coolest things about photography is the people you meet along the way. The people, the places, the things you learn, the stories and memories. It's all so wonderful.
"Ain't Photography Grand!!"
Learning about St. Thomas University (liberal arts education) in Fredericton New Brunswick, Canada, tonight. Their newspaper the 'Aquinian" sent me an interview request for the coming exhibitions (October 28) at the University of New Brunswick (UNB).
Another place with a very long history to visit when we are in Fredericton.

Quote: Frida Kahlo
"I hope the exit is joyful, and hope never to return."
This was the last entry in the Mexican painter’s diary. After suffering from excruciating pain her entire life, Frida Kahlo died at age 47 at her home in Mexico.
Note* She was such a brave and courageous person. Miss Kahlo fought through so much difficulty in her life and created art with heartfelt soul in it.

Full Online Analog Forever Magazine, THE FAMILIES OF THE DUMP Story-Interview
Here is the entire Analog Forever Magazine online, THE FAMILIES OF THE DUMP STORY and interview. After answering all the questions I have not gone back and reread the interview, kind of makes me queezy to read stuff written about me, or stuff I spouted. If your interested in the dump story, check out the link and photos.
Note* The reason I copied these was to do up a PDF file for gallery submissions. After the 2 coming big UNB exhibitions I have NO SHOWS to look forward to, NADA, NOTHING! I need to update my submission files and start sending them to galleries again.
Note* They spelled YAUM backwards, as YUAM but that is OK, just a pseudonym. The photos and the lives of the people in them is all that matters. The stories and the people in the picture is all that matter.

Picked up a couple of free enlargers and a very nice free wheeled studio camera stand from my friend Arda today.
Flies In The Dump
Another repost from Facebook. When I first went to the dump the flies freaked me out, later got used to to them!
Got to LOVE the flies at the dump, from 2018 while making pics. THE FAMILIES OF THE DUMP, Mae Sot garbage dump, Thailand

Playing with some app software on my phone. First free app captured an old neg, second free app did some simple editing. Gotta love modern tech!

2 Brothers In The Dump
Always liked this photo of 2 brothers sitting in their dump shack from 2013. The boy on the left has a fly on his face but he does not even try to move it away. There is acceptance and a sadness in the image, an acceptance of faith, with some courage.

Miss The Darkroom
I miss working in the darkroom. Here is a 2 year old platinum print from a dump digital negative. This winter I hope to start making 11x14 size platinum-palladium prints. I want to make a 10 print box set of the best THE FAMILIES IF THE DUMP images. The eventual hope is that on retirement I can print all the top photos of my lifetime in Gelatin Silver and Platinum/Palladium. Got to love the darkroom., spending time there is beautiful.

They published the online version of THE FAMILIES OF THE DUMP photos and interview. This was earlier published in a paper magazine version.

Forest, 8x10 Clear Glass Ambrotype
Love the tonality of this one, wish I could achieve this more often. If I can retire next year will try to take longer more intensive photo trips. I need to devote more time and effort to the ambrotype project before I am too old to chase the dream down.

Going To Try And Write Me A Book
Probably an impossible task, not much of writer, but thought I would give it a go. No harm in trying. Telling photo stories has always been fun for me, telling stories and showing images in the context of a life story should also be fun. Should finish it in 20 years or so..😁😁. The book is kinda an autobiography but I want to be more about the people in the pictures, the friends I have had, their lives, their stories, their photographs. Hopefully it does not come across as too me me me.
