I have seen rats sold on the road for food in Northern Thailand before but have heard of this level of factory like commitment to the meat. Love the part where the rat hunter says his country rats are healthier than city rats because they have less fur falling out. These rats are caught in Cambodia for the rat meat market in Vietnam. The rats are also eaten in Cambodia because of their reported ORGANIC, chemical free appeal.
Hmm, I wonder how organic rat meat would sell at my local all organic Canadian grocery store, or the outdoor organic farmers market? I could promote them as a healthy chemical free meat, all natural.
Here is the link from the Phnom Penh post newspaper with video!

A quote from the rat meat customer in the video "It tastes as good as chicken. Some people like rat, and some people like chicken."
Yum Yum, you got to love stories like this. Pass the fried rice with rat please, I'm so hungry!
