Made a submission to the AGA awhile back for their Alberta Biennial of Contempory Art 2010 show, getting in seems extremely doubtful.

Dear Gerry,
Thank you for submitting a proposal to the Alberta Biennial of Contemporary Art 2010. We are pleased to announce that the Biennial will be curated by Richard Rhodes, editor of Canadian Art Magazine, Within the next couple of months the curator will be reviewing all applications and making a short list for summer studio visits which will likely take place in the last two weeks of August. We have received over 200 submissions therefore only the artists who are selected for a studio visit will be contacted. Following the studio visits, the final selection of participating artists will be made in the Fall of 2009.
Should you not receive a call for a studio visit, we would like to express our sincere appreciation and thanks for your submission to the Alberta Biennial of Contemporary Art 2010. Best wishes to you and your future endeavors.

Sounds a bit like I am in competition for a Pulitzer/Guggenheim or something of that nature. Not sure straight photography is what these folks are into anyway, maybe they are looking for some kind of performance/contemporary art ( penguins walking around dressed in pink polka dot bikinis to the theme of 2001 to protest global warming, stuff like that.)
At least they were very polite and I can use the material I made up for this submission for other attempts to other places in the future. The work will also be seen by some important folks which cannot hurt the chances of it being seen sometime, somewhere down the line.
