The goal this winter is to be shooting some 16x20 and 20x24 plates semi competently in studio. With the hope that in the spring I can go out into the field where things are more difficult and make ambrotypes in the larger sizes. At least I can try.
I need to get out into the world shooting the 35x35 before I am too old and broken down.

A Khun Owen image is now hanging at the UNB exhibition. I worry for him. People told me to stay away from the man because of his drug use. They said he was dangerous. To me thou he was always kind. He even took me to show me where he lived last trip (abandoned and dirty room in a nearby set of buildings). A forgotten man struggling to survive under the freeway in Klong Toey Slum Bangkok

Only saw 1 member of the Win family last trip. This photograph is the oldest daughter of the family. I had known and photographed the family for 5 years at the point the photo was made. The oldest daughter often seemed frightened. Her mother (who passed away around 2020) told me her daughter often fainted while working. Most of the families at the dump have gone through some kind of trauma, yet they rise above it and strive to build better lives for themselves.
This image was made as she walked the garbage near some of the other families who were working. I hoped to capture her sense of isolation.
