Just learned that Klong Toey Slum n Bangkok where the photos for project THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE UNDER THE FREEWAY were made is now classified as a “Covid-19, DARK RED SUPER SPREADER” area in Thailand. I worry for my friends, their lives are already so difficult, now they have to deal with this. The daily death numbers in Thailand are rising. Even getting masks might be difficult for many people who live in Klong Toey. I hope the government is assisting them and am also hoping that virus fears by the general population does not lead to more discrimination and attacks against the people in the slum. Fear often leads to people doing crazy things.
