There is way more garbage this time around. There was a fresh rainfall last night and everything was wet and slippery (I fell one time on my backside as I crouched to do a photo). The dump seems to have more of everything this time around, more people and more garbage, there are stronger smells and even more flies than before. In many places the garbage is piled up on what last time was a small dirt road. Mae Sot must be producing more and more garbage as a second dump is open now. This new second dump also has Burmese families working there scavenging for recyclables. Sometimes when you walk on the garbage your feet sink over 1 foot down the flies swarm around you and its slippery. I need to get full rubber boots as my shoe style often fill up with dump debris.
Often people walk very close to the garbage trucks and bull dozers as they work, any mistake, any slip up could lead to a fatal injury as there is almost no medical care close by. There is a free clinic for Burmese in Mae Sot but by the time a seriously injured person gets there it would probably be to late to help them (will post video later).
