I left the hotel at 7am (tomorrow will leave at 6am) and shot until 11am. I ended up shooting 15 rolls of Tri-x along with a bunch of digi photos (to print and give to people) and some videos.
After walking up and down the garbage, climbing around everywhere, meeting everyone again, handing out photos and shooting all that film I was pretty much exhausted. The difference for me as compared to the people who live in the dump is I got a comfortable ride home then take a nice long hot shower in my beautiful a/c hotel room. My life in the dump is only 4 or 5 hours a day then its all I can eat, a clean bed and cool room. I get a nice quiet nights sleep after watching movies on my cable TV.
I have no real knowledge of the hardships the people in the dump face. I need to get beyond the superficial to a deeper understanding of who they are.
