Was just thinking back about the last month.
Gosh having the "My Fathers Last Days" pictures as part of "Healing Process" exhibition in the Art Gallery of St. Albert (AGSA) has been pure joy. I got to meet and work with all the wonderful folks at the AGSA. The photos of dad got seen by many gallery visitors, more than normal for the gallery I was told. Many folks had an emotional reaction to the show.
There were many side benefits as well, in no particular order:
1) $871 Artist Fee (paid off some debts).
2) $298 Artist Talk Fee (donated to the "Families of the Dump" from dad.
3) 2 articles in the St. Albert Gazette, including a longer interview (spreading the word and a good learning experience)
4) Artist talk (spreading the word, and a good learning experience, AGA here I come!)
5) It led to the only donation from Larry. $724 for the "Families of the Dump"
6) It led to the free trays and photo paper from Sima which will help future photo work on "KANATA".
7) It made my mother happy, she sat front row center at the talk, eating it all up, loving every minute of it. It brought dad back alive for her, just for a short time but he visited for a while.
This damn thing was wins all round, a great great experience. Probably the best experience I have had overall in the gallery art world. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this wonderful experience.
Note* The artist fee of $500 for the "Trumpet"exhibition went to the "Families of the Dump" donation fund.
