The context exhibition video was a huge hit, at times there were 8 or 9 people standing around the monitor watching. I often told stories as they watched, it was a great teaching tool. I think a lot of people got a lot out it. The video added so much strength to the show, it did everything I expected plus a bit more. People were often fascinated and at times a bit stunned by the footage.
I really need to get that $650 HD video point and shoot. I will continue to shoot and edit video that adds context and depth to my exhibitions. I want to also get a cordless microphone set up, to record audio. The combination of b/w film stills, and a colour context video is a real winner.
This turned out to be a really good idea.
